Terms of Use
Effective October 8, 2026
Train within your limits, and know that Tabata Pro renews automatically until you cancel it in your Apple Account.
These terms apply to the Tabata: HIIT Interval Timer app (“Tabata”) from developer Betül Üsküdar. They add to Apple’s Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement, which also governs your use of the app. By using Tabata, you agree to both.
Health and safety
Tabata and HIIT training are intense. Talk to a doctor before you start a new exercise program, especially if you are pregnant, have a heart condition, high blood pressure, an injury or any other medical condition.
- Stop right away if you feel pain, dizziness, faintness or shortness of breath.
- Train in a safe space and use proper form.
- Tabata is a timer. It is not a medical device and does not give medical advice, diagnosis or treatment.
- Apple Health figures shown in the app are for information only.
You exercise at your own risk.
Free use
You can start five workouts for free with the Tabata, HIIT, Countdown and Stopwatch timers. After that, you need Tabata Pro to start more workouts. AMRAP, EMOM and custom Interval timers always need Pro.
Tabata Pro subscriptions
- Tabata Pro is offered as a weekly or yearly auto-renewing subscription. Prices are shown in the app before you buy and may vary by country.
- Payment is charged to your Apple Account when you confirm the purchase.
- Your subscription renews automatically unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before that period ends.
- If a free trial is offered, any unused part of it is forfeited when you buy a subscription.
- Manage or cancel the subscription in Settings → Apple Account → Subscriptions. Deleting the app does not cancel it.
- Apple handles refunds under its own policies. Request one at reportaproblem.apple.com.
- To restore a purchase on a new device, open the Tabata Pro screen and tap Restore.
Acceptable use
You agree not to copy, modify, reverse engineer or redistribute the app, and not to get around subscription features. Tabata is licensed to you, not sold.
Intellectual property
The app, its design, text, graphics and sounds belong to the developer and are protected by law. “Tabata” refers to the interval training protocol. This app is not affiliated with Dr. Izumi Tabata.
Availability and changes
We may update, change or discontinue features at any time. Some features need a minimum app version and may ask you to update. Updates to these terms are posted on this page with a new effective date. Continuing to use Tabata after a change means you accept it.
Disclaimer and liability
Tabata is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind. To the extent the law allows, the developer is not liable for any injury, health issue, data loss or indirect damages from using the app. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer protection laws that cannot be waived.
Privacy
How we handle data is described in the Privacy Policy.
